Band Saws
Band saws are available in a wide variety of sizes, are typically categorized by the size of the wheels that the blades run on so for instance a 14 inch bandsaw will have 14 inch wheels, the diameter of the wheels relates directly to the between the saw blade and the throat. For most home woodworkers a is more than adequate. There are basically three different categories or sizes of band saws. These are a good choice for a home wood worker who has a limited amount of space to work with and does not need a larger bandsaw.
By far the most common size of band saws as the 12 to 14 inch range these band saws can handle pretty much anything that the typical home wood shop owner needs done they have plenty of power.
Bandsaw blades can be purchased in a multitude of different widths, the narrower the width the easier it is for the operator to cut out sharp corners, the wider the blade the easier it is to cut in a straight line. are also available with many different teeth per inch, basically the harder the substance you are cutting the more teeth per inch you will want, the less teeth per inch would be used on softer materials.
